Small-Scale Wind Turbine Prototype

Small-Scale Wind Turbine Prototype

This project involved the design, fabrication, and evaluation of a small-scale wind turbine prototype as part of a team-based engineering design project. The system demonstrated mechanical-to-electrical energy conversion through a functional prototype capable of generating electrical output to power a small bulb.

The Design

The prototype was developed through a complete engineering design process, including conceptual planning, fabrication, assembly, and performance evaluation. The design incorporated a custom blade system and mechanical structure to convert wind energy into rotational motion, which was then converted into electrical output during testing.

Functional Demonstration

The completed prototype was evaluated through live testing, where the rotating turbine generated electrical output to illuminate a small bulb, demonstrating successful conversion from mechanical wind energy to electrical energy.
